Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment

Welcome to the Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment!

To enhance communication and collaboration within the school community, our office staff provides information and support for improving student academic achievement across content areas, teacher leadership, and the implementation of research-based teaching methods. We firmly believe that high quality instruction is key to high levels of student achievement.

Our commitment to enhance professional skills is because all students deserve a quality education, have the capacity to learn, and can achieve post-secondary attainment and success, and/or military readiness. In addition, professional learning opportunities for our staff support the educational tenets of implementing those best practices in curriculum and instructional delivery to respond to our students’ diverse needs and to meet those needs at all academic levels.

We have identified the following guiding principles to ensure Edinburg High School students and staff are successful:

  • A focus on academic excellence
  • Rigorous, engaging, and intentional instruction
  • Implementation of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills and implementation of district-wide curricula
  • Collect and analyze data to inform practice and monitor progress
  • Instructional leadership development through planning and curriculum meetings
  • A focus on professional development and support for teachers
  • A campus-wide emphasis on teamwork and professional community

Ultimately, we equip Edinburg High School teachers and support staff with the tools they need to meet the changes in accountability and educational trends.

If our department staff can be of service to you with any additional information, we will be glad to assist you. Our doors are always open!

Respectfully,
