Ciro L. Trevino Performing Arts Center (PAC)
Mr. Ciro Leonel Trevino was born in Edinburg, Texas on October 18, 1953. His love for music began at the age of five when he began piano lessons. He took piano lessons for 10 years and then he began playing the trombone.
Mr. Trevino was a member of the Edinburg High School Bobcat Band from 1968-1972 as a Trombonist and a Choir All-State Alternate during his Senior Year.
Mr. Trevino graduated from Pan American University in 1976 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and a Master’s Degree in Secondary Supervision while being a member of various ensembles.
In his first teaching position landed him in the Mercedes School District as an assistant band director. In 1977, he was hired by his Alma Mater, Edinburg High School, as an assistant band director.
In 1989, he became the first mariachi director in the school district where he arranged pieces for his group that many others used.
In 1990, he became the Edinburg High School Head Band Director and in his first year, he took the Bobcat Band to his first State Marching contest! During his tenure at Edinburg High School, the band advanced to the UIL State Marching Contest twice and achieved numerous Sweepstakes in UIL Marching, Concert, and Sight Reading Contests.
In 2002, Mr. Trevino was promoted to Director of Fine Arts where he served his remaining 4 years with the district before retiring in June of 2006. His musical legacy and community influence spanned for 30 years!
After his loss to a 4 year long battle with cancer, ECISD decided to name the Edinburg High School Fine Arts Auditorium after him. His name now lives on at Edinburg High School!
