EHS PD Provide State Mandated Training to TXDPS

In accordance with the State of Texas TCOLE #4064, our ECISD Police Department was asked to conduct a two-day, 20 hour School Based Law Enforcement Training for The Texas Department of Public Safety.
Edinburg High School Corporal Valerie Martinez and Truancy Officer Ayzha Little instructed over 100 State Troopers in Child/Adolescent Development and Psychology, Mental Health, De-escalation, and Positive Behavioral Intervention in preparation of their deployment to Uvalde, Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District Police Department honor Corp. Martinez, and Officer Little from Edinburg High School for their intricate role in the success of the State Mandated School-Based Law Enforcement Training. As a result of the provided training provided State Troopers were able to provide security services for Uvalde ISD.
Corporal Martinez, with 27 years of experience in law enforcement, continues to exemplify excellence, integrity, and professionalism as she extends her knowledge and expertise as liaison between public schools and the law enforcement community. She and Officer Little will have a great impact on all of the schools and communities served in the future. Our district exemplifies honor and pride, so it is no surprise that our ECISD Officers represented the district as they did. Thank you Corporal Martinez and Officer Little for your service. SIMPLY THE BEST!
