Principal

Mrs. Claudia Mata has been an educator for over 27 years. She is a graduate of the University of Texas Pan American with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Certifications in English, Spanish, ESL endorsement, and GT certification.  She has a Master’s Degree in Education Administration.

Mrs. Mata was an English teacher for 17 years. Being selected Campus, District, and Regional Secondary Teacher of the Year, only drove her to aspire to do more, to be more, to want more, and that led her to where she is today. She enjoyed being in the classroom where she enjoyed interacting with and seeing her students learn and grow.

As principal she hopes to inspire her staff to do the same, for she continues to be passionate about education and her goal of helping all students and teachers. Staff know her for her dedication, loyalty, and strong leadership style as well as her record of proven success.  She works tirelessly on establishing programs and initiatives that ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed and preparing them to compete at a global level.

She considers herself a hardworking individual who takes pride in everything she does. As a service leader, she leads by example and strives to foster a school culture and educational program conducive to student learning and development.

A quote she likes to use to inspire her students and staff comes from Mr. Walt Disney, “If you can dream it, you can do it!” She believes that if individuals are helped to see the bigger picture, they will work diligently to achieve and surpass set goals.
